What’s the word

Here I will showcase my favourite piece of literature for the week.

Lemn Sissay is a Manchester born author, poet and broadcaster. He is decorated with an MBE from the Queen for his services to literature. I urge anyone to read Rebel Without Applause. It is a captivating book of poetry which is topical and more prevelent than ever. It conveys the struggles encountered as a black man in England and matters such as patriotism, politics and, love. He crafts his sentences in a way in which the reader is emotionally hooked and hanging onto every word. This is one of my favourite poems in the anthology and (hopefully) I’ll be getting this tattooed on me soon.
